4G LTE Modems

There are a multitude of LTE modems provided by ISPs. As these devices use the OPT port of the SimpleWAN unit, it may be ideal to use these as back up as well. Keep in mind that some, if not all, of these will need to remain Unbridged as they do not work otherwise.

The Simplewan device LAN range should be something other 192.168.1.1 for the failover to work. ex:  192.168.10.1 etc..

The SimpleWAN will always appear as Double NAT when using LTE Modems

Set Up
  1.  Connect the SimpleWAN unit to a connection that will allow it to Download the Cloud Configuration and Firmware Properly.
  2. Connect the Ethernet cable from your LTE modem to: WAN for Primary, OPT for Failover. Boot up the Modem.
  3. Turn on the SimpleWAN unit once the Modem has completed initializing.
  4. Wait for the SimpleWAN unit to connect to the Dashboard. Sync timer should reset to zero (0).

For users of Netgear LTE modems, the devices they use cannot be Bridged as it will not work with other routers in this mode. For more information visit here.
