Dynamic IPSEC VPN Server

Dynamic IPSEC VPN Server

Dynamic Server

Alternative remote VPN; can be used by phones with remote VPN capabilities, remote desktop, etc..
The main use of dynamic vpn server is to create a Spoke and Hub Type 1 tunnel that allow users to remotely access their network and devices  through static/dynamic collaboration.
The main host site must have a Static IP address (Hub) and the rest of the sites that you want to access remotely  (Spokes) can use Dynamic IP address. To change/know what is your current IP type, click "here:<link to Interfaces KB>

Limitations
1) Requires 3rd party VPN only.
2) IKEv1 available so far.
3) Is not available with VMPLS active.

After clicking IPsec, you will then see the Dynamic VPN server tab.

Note: If you are trying to set Dynamic VPN server, make sure that the site/sites does not belong to any existing VMPLs group.
This feature tab will not show up on the dashboard if the site belongs to a VMPLs tier.

IPSEC Keys

This is where you will create the remote ID and Pre-Shared Key for the devices.
Ex: If the phone is asking for a username and password for you to be able to access it remotely, this is the right tab to check.

Note: Always include this to your troubleshooting steps if there's an Error doing remote access to the devices. Always check the username and the password.

Tip: The Question Mark Icon ( ? ) is a very helpful guideline. Hover your mouse to it and see the description.
